Preparing for Laser Ablation or Phlebectomy

Before Your Laser Ablation and/or Phlebectomy Procedure

We will call and verify your insurance coverage prior to your procedure.  We will work with your insurance to assure that we have provided everything that they require.  But, you are ultimately responsible for all charges.  You will be expected to pay any co-pays and/or deductibles at time of service.  To avoid any unexpected surprises, we recommend that you call your insurance company yourself to verify your coverage.  You may be asked for location of procedure, date of service, procedure and diagnosis codes.

Your claim will be billed out as follows:

Please ask if there are any special requirements for them to pay your claim.  If you need assistance and/or have any questions please call Kristie and she will be happy to assist you.

  1. Bring your compression stocking to the office on the day of your procedure.  If you do not have a prescription for stockings, please call the office and we can fax in a prescription for you.

  2. Please arrange for a ride from the office, on the day of your procedure.  We ask that you do not drive for 24 hours after procedure.

  3. Do NOT use lotion on your leg the day of your procedure.

  4. Wear loose fitting pants and shoes.

  5. There are no diet restrictions prior to your procedure.  You may eat normal meals.

  6. One hour prior to your procedure, take 800mg of over the counter Motrin.

  7. You will be asked to wear the compressive stockings for 24 hours per day the first week.  Starting the second week after your procedure you will need to wear the stocking during your waking hours only.

  8. After the first week, you may participation in aerobic activities, but you MUST wear your compression stocking for one month after the laser procedure.
