Sclerotherapy FAQ's

Q: How successful is this treatment?
A: There is an 80% chance of success.

Q: What do I wear to receive Sclerotherapy therapy?
A: Patient needs to wear or bring a bathing suit or a pair of short shorts.

Q: What do I need to bring to receive Sclerotherapy treatment?
A: Patients MUST bring their compression stockings to their procedure.

Q: How frequently will a patient come?
A: The patient will return after Sclerotherapy (at no charge). to have a physician observe progress. The patient can have more veins treated (Depending on the patient’s veins), in 2-6 weeks.

Q: What medications are used?
A: Sodium Tetradecyl Sulphate (STS)

Q: What is used for pain during the visit?
A: The medication have a numbing component, but the patient will experience some stinging with the injections.

Q: Will my insurance pay for this treatment?
A: Our Surgical Scheduler will check with your insurance to find out what their exact coverage will be. She will discuss her findings with you prior to scheduling your procedure. Some insurance companies consider this treatment cosmetic and will not pay. We do not submit any insurance claims for this service.  Payment is due at time of service.  You will be provided with a receipt with all the information that is required to submit a claim.  You may wish to submit your receipt to your insurance company for consideration.
