Providence Athletic Medicine
The Fellowship training program at Providence Hospital is dedicated to providing community-based education in Primary Care Sports Medicine to the residency trained Primary Care Physician. The goal is to enhance the knowledge and procedural skills of the resident caring for the active or athletic individual while maintaining their Primary Care skills. To achieve this goal, the resident of this program rotates through the Sports Medicine Clinic, in addition to maintaining continuity care office hours. Training room experience, event coverage including the Detroit Marathon, didactic sessions, medical student and resident education all serve as integral parts of the training program.
