Providence Athletic Medicine


The Providence Athletic Medicine program is a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary primary care and sports medicine service offering a wide range of medical care for the entire family. Our physicians are board certified in family practice with a specialty in sports medicine. The doctors proudly serve as the team/event physicians for the Plymouth Whalers, Madonna University, Motor City Bowl, South Lyon East High School and Island Lake Triathlon. We also provide various coverage for local high schools and special events.

Sports medicine today involves the prevention, recognition and treatment of injuries, but also the promotion of overall wellness, health and fitness.

Providence Athletic Medicine offers a full range of services to meet the unique needs of the athlete at every age and level from grade school to professional.

Our goal is to return the patient as quickly and safely as possible to their desired activity. This can be achieved with the best sports medicine care available.

Lance Freeman, M.D. joins our practice as our new Sports Medicine Fellow.  Dr. Freeman is a board certified Emergency Medicine Physician completing a years Fellowship in Sports Medicine. Dr. Freeman will be with us until July 2013.

Inquire about our new Concussion Management Program! A computerized baseline is determined pre-concussion and then reassessed post-concussion to determine when its safe to return to play.
