runner1.  Muscle strains.   Small muscle tears usually occurring as a result of improper warm up, poor flexibility, or overexertion.  Symptoms: achiness, pain with use.  Treatment: acute (recent) ice, anti-inflammation medication, light stretching.  Chronic strains (long term) heat to warm up, stretches, ice post activity, monitor activity.
